Eastern Tandem Rally, Inc., a non-profit, volunteer group, exists to promote the sport of tandem bicycle riding, principally in the Northeastern United States.

ETR sponsors at least two tandem bicycle rally each year. The main rally Eastern Tandem Rally and a smaller Rally, MATES ( Mid-Atlantic Tandem EnthusiastS).

Eastern Tandem Offroad Rally

Event description: Three days of riding mostly single track in Wharton State Forest near Batsto, NJ. Suitable for offroad tandems with wide tires. Flat and sandy in the Pine Barrens.

Date: April 4-6, 2008

Time: 9AM (leave for the ride start)

Ride Distance: Four hours of riding per day with multiple loops available.

Terrain: Several hundred miles of single track trails, cut by enduro motocycles, exist in the Pine Barrens. We choose a few primo trails to ride. Technically challenging due to narrow track, tight corners and sandy conditions. Elevation varies from 40 to 120' - flat.

Food: Bag lunches on the trail. Friday night dinner at a local restaurant and Saturday night buffet at the house.
